Tramper Hire
Everyone can enjoy Beddgelert Forest by hiring the new all-terrain tramper.
What is a tramper?
The Tramper is a specially designed, all-terrain mobility scooter, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It is very robust, with light, accurate steering and tailored suspension, making it easy to handle and comfortable to ride on. It enables people who have a mobility impairment to experience the countryside; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.
Explore Beddgelert Forest
The tramper can be used to explore the huge forest, which is a treasure trove of accessible paths photographic opportunities and wildlife.
Lôn Gwyrfai is a multi-use recreational path created especially for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The route stretches 4½ miles between the villages of Rhyd Ddu and Beddgelert. Parts of Lôn Gwyrfai have even wide surfaces suitable for some powered Tramper type vehicles or power-assisted wheelchairs.
Leading through a variety of landscapes, Lôn Gwyrfai offers fantastic views of the Gwyrfai Valley and the surrounding area, including stunning views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
Who can use it?
The tramper is for use by anyone who struggles with walking distances or up hills, or who has limited mobility of any kind. You don’t have to be registered disabled or have a Blue Badge to use it; it can simply be that your difficulties are caused by age or a permanent or temporary condition.
With a top speed of four miles an hour it can keep pace with the briskest walking companion, meaning you can keep up with your family and enjoy a countryside walk.
